DC DPR Senior City Tour: Senior Fest 2022! at Gateway Pavilion

The GRAND FINALE was today! We joined over 30 vendors from across the DMV (District-Maryland-Virginia) area today at Gateway Pavilion 2700 Martin Luther King Jr Ave., SE, Washington, DC 20032. Mayor Muriel Bowser capped off the Senior City Tour with SENIOR-FEST, THE HOMECOMING 2022!

A multitude of organizations presented a full spectrum of services to all of the seniors who attended. There was live music from several groups including the Metropolitan Police Force’s own Side-by-Side Band! The event was catered! The seniors were treated like VIPs by the DC DPR (Department of Parks and Recreation) servers! This was a non-stop party of epic proportions!

Several of the From The Scroll volunteers (including our illustrious leader Deborah Pair Chandler) took photos with the Mayor! Mayor Bowser liked our games so much that she shared photos of seniors playing our game FRUIT on all of her social media platforms! Kyla Hutchison and the Zealous Inc. staff were in full force as they showed off their unique senior hobby and pastime offerings.

We would like to share our sincere gratitude to Marion Speight, Director of Senior Affairs at the Department of Parks & Recreation for inviting us to participate in this tour & homecoming. The exposure has been priceless! We will forever fondly remember the smiles we were able to put on the faces of so many seniors across this great city!
